General Dentistry

General Dentistry

Dental disease is one of the most common—and most uncomfortable—conditions affecting pets. It can lead to significant pain and impact their overall health, even if the signs aren’t obvious at first. In fact, bad breath is often the earliest clue that something isn’t quite right. Interestingly, pets are experts at hiding discomfort. Because of their natural instincts, they may not show clear signs of mouth pain until the disease has progressed to a more serious stage. That’s why early detection and treatment are so important. Addressing dental issues early helps keep your pet’s teeth healthy for longer and supports their overall wellbeing. Before any dental procedure, each patient receives a thorough pre-anesthetic evaluation. This includes bloodwork and an electrocardiogram to ensure it’s safe to proceed with anesthesia. During the dental visit, we take full-mouth radiographs (X-rays) to uncover problems beneath the surface—areas that can’t be seen with the naked eye. If needed, we can address diseased teeth with things such as restoration, crown amputation, or extraction depending upon the situation - to relieve pain. We also clean your pet’s teeth by scaling away plaque and tartar, polishing the enamel for a smooth finish, and applying a protective dental sealant to help keep that smile healthy and bright. To keep tails wagging and smiles shining, we finish by creating a personalized dental care plan tailored to your pet’s specific needs—because every pet deserves a healthy mouth and a happy life!
