Dr. Jacenta Parker
Owner and Lead DVM
Dr. Parker’s passion for veterinary medicine began at just six years old, during her very first visit to the veterinarian with her beloved childhood pet—a Miniature Schnauzer named Bruiser, whom she had eagerly convinced her parents to bring home. From that moment on, she knew exactly what she wanted to be. A native of Middletown, NY, Dr. Parker now resides in Bergen County with her family. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology, graduating summa cum laude from Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans. She then went on to achieve her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009, and has been dedicated to practicing ever since. With a deep love for both animals and science, veterinary medicine has been a natural and fulfilling career path. One of Dr. Parker’s greatest joys is caring for her canine and feline patients throughout all stages of their lives—watching them grow from playful youngsters into their senior years. She also places great value on building strong, trusting relationships with pet parents, believing that partnership is key to providing the best possible care. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Parker is a devoted wife and proud mother of two wonderful sons, in fact, being that the hospital is a family business, you will often spot a family member helping out! Her home is also shared with her two beloved “fur children”—Shanti, a rescue Shih Tzu, and Tenna, a Ragamuffin—who keep life fun, full, and always a little furry.
